South Korea’s birth rate may finally be bouncing back. According to the Bureau of Statistics 통계청, the birth rate for January through May 2025 increased by 7% year-over-year, the largest increase since the bureau began collecting birth figures in 1981. The birth rate rose to 0.75, showing a five-month growth streak.
