According to a report by the Minister of Gender Equality and Family 여성가족부, South Korea’s multicultural receptivity in 2024 was 53.38 out of 100, rebounding from the 2021 low of 52.27.

South Korea’s youth scored significantly higher in multicultural receptivity, at 69.77. The overwhelming majority of youth (91.9%) said they had immigrants or children of immigrants as neighbors, classmates, friends or family, while only 30.4% of adults said the same. Among adults, 59.1% said they had no interaction with any immigrants or children of immigrants, and 13.6% said they have approximately one such interaction per year.
