According to a Ministry of Data and Statistics 국가데이터처 report from July 26, home ownership by those younger than 40 dropped to 27.7% - the first time the figure fell below 30% since the Ministry began collecting the statistic in 2017.
As recently as 2019, 40.7% of adults under 40 years old owned a home. Home ownership remained stable across other age cohorts.
