South Korea’s International Aid Declines

In 2025, South Korea spent USD 3.9b on official development assistance (ODA), according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 외교부. South Korea’s contribution decreased by 3.9% compared to 2024, but the country remained the 13th largest ODA among Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries.

The 2025 total for all countries was USD 174.3b, a 19% drop from the preceding year. Leading contributors, such as the United States (55.8% reduction), Germany (11.4% reduction) and the United Kingdom (4.5% reduction), all made significant cuts.
