Fewer than 100 days remain before the Local Elections 지방선거 in June, and most opinion polls conducted over the Seollal 설날 holiday show that the ruling Democratic Party 민주당 with a strong lead over the opposition People Power Party 국민의힘.
In the MBC News poll conducted from February 11 through 13, 54% of respondents supported liberals in the upcoming Local Elections, while 37% supported conservatives. Similarly in a poll conducted by KBS News from February 10 to 12, 55% said they would support the ruling party, and 34%, the opposition. Likewise, the SBS News poll from February 12 to 14 showed that 53% supported the Democratic Party in the Local Elections, and 38% supported the PPP.
