Despite the recent decline, South Koreans favor the United States than any of its neighbors.

In the latest edition of the regular poll conducted by Hankook Research, the South Korean public favored the United States most out of five major neighboring countries, and Japan the least.

The poll asked the respondents to assign a favorability rating of between 0 and 100; the score for the US was at 49.9, followed by Russia (39.6), North Korea (33.2), China (29.6) and Japan (23.7).
