A new report found that South Korea’s spy agency under the Park Geun-hye 박근혜 administration collaborated with Japanese far-right groups to attack South Korea’s civic groups.

According to PD Notebook PD 수첩, an investigative journalism program by the TV station MBC, the National Intelligence Service 국가정보원 leaked travel information about South Korean Comfort Women 종군위안부 activists’ plans to visit Japan, enabling Japan’s far-right groups to harass them during their visit.

The NIS would also invite far-right personalities such as Sakurai Yoshiko, a journalist, and give them briefings of highly sensitive information regarding North Korea that could be used in Japan’s domestic politics.
