Although Yoon Suk-yeol 윤석열 has not even been president for three full months, the South Korean voters are already regretting their decision. According to a survey by Newstomato 뉴스토마토 on July 15, a solid majority (50.3%) said they would vote for the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung 이재명 민주당 대선후보 if they could go back in time to vote again on March 9.

In a hypothetical re-match, Yoon only would earn 35.3% of the votes. The survey showed that Lee beat Yoon in every region (including Seoul, where real estate grievances pushed the city to vote conservative) except in the deeply conservative Daegu 대구 and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province 경상북도, and in every age group except those older than 60 years old.
