According to the Gallup Korea survey this week assessing the former presidents, Park Chung-hee 박정희, Kim Dae-jung 김대중 and Roh Moo-hyun 노무현 received high marks, while Chun Doo-hwan 전두환 and Roh Tae-woo 노태우 fared poorly.
Responding to the question asking whether the president did more good than bad, 62% said yes to Kim Dae-jung, and 61% said yes to Park Chung-hee and Roh Moo-hyun. In contrast, only 16% said yes to Chun, and 21% said yes to Roh Tae-woo. Kim Young-sam 김영삼 earned 41%. The poll did not ask about Lee Myung-bak 이명박 or Park Geun-hye 박근혜, who are currently in prison.
