According to a survey commissioned by Chey Institute for Advanced Studies 최종현 학술원, 91% of the South Korean public believes that denuclearization of North Korea is impossible. The response is a significant increase over an already pessimistic result from last year, when 77.6% said denuclearization was impossible.

A strong majority (72.8%) of respondents favored South Korea developing its own nuclear weapons, although the proportion declined slightly from last year’s 76.6%.
